Where is my credit card and other account info stored?

We don’t store credit card information.

What is your privacy policy?

It’s simple. We don’t kiss and we don’t tell. We don’t give, sell, rent, gift, or mention ANY information about you or any information contained in your JAYA123Plus database to anyone, unless they have a court order (we have no choice in that.)

Don’t ask us who our other customers are because we won’t say. Don’t call us asking for info about your account or payments because we won’t give it out over the phone unless we call you back.

We are dead-serious about privacy . . . both about you AND your customers. We know the responsibility you have placed in us by using JAYA123PLUS and we DO live up to that trust.

When am I billed?

We will send you an invoice and you can pay with your credit card or pay online through our payment processors we use at the time of your sign-up.

Where is your Terms of Service documented located?

We send them to you with your invoice. If you want a copy, contact us.

Explain auto-numbering on Invoice/Customer numbers?

It is often asked about whether or not there is a way to auto-number both or either of the invoice or cust. numbers.

In our previous product (PUB123) lots and lots of people hated the “auto-number” method we used. They wanted to use their OWN invoice numbers (and customer numbers as well.) So in JAYA123Plus we allowed it. For those who use a NUMERIC ONLY Invoice or Customer number, the system will tell you (in bold) on the data entry screen what the HIGHEST number on the file is… and all you need to do is add one to it. It does not work all that great on an ALPHA-NUMERIC invoice number or customer number.

Company name on screen vs. reports?

We take the company name for the JAYA screens from the name that you gave us when you subscribed. Thus, if you subscribed as “Big Time Productions” that is what you will see on the screens.

However, for reports, we take the Company name from the Company Settings page… which you can change using the Edit Tables/Settings option on the main menu. So if you want to run a report as “Litttle Time Productions” you can just change your name, run the report, and set it back if you like.

Unlike changing the Logo Path (see other article) you DON’T have to log off and re-log back in if you change your company name.

How to use a logo on reports?

To use a logo, you go the main menu on the left and click “Settings” and go to Company Settings. There you enter your URL to where your logo is on YOUR web server. Ex: www.mycompany.com/images/logo.jpg

The first time you go to Company Settings you will see “none.png” in the Logo Page box. If you don’t have a logo on your server, then leave “none.png” alone… or you can make it blank…. same thing.

Your logo must be no more than 1.5 square inch in size and it MUST be either a JPG or a PNG file type. Sorry, but .GIF will NOT work. (There is some litigation going on over the GIF patent and we don’t want to get involved.)

You only enter the URL. Do NOT enter the “httP://” part. We’ll put that in for you. You must enter a valid URL. The system will check it and give you an error if it can’t find your URL.

If you run a report or do an invoice and you get: FPDF Error: Can’t open: xxxxxx
then somehow you logo file is either missing or has been corrupted. Check the entry in Settings and maybe try a different one.

Why are PDFs saved to my computer with strange names?

If PDF files are being saved to your desktop or to some folder it’s because you have your browser configured to do so. OR you are not using what is called a “plug in.”

Most folks have the Adobe Reader Plugin installed with their browser or their browser has its own PDF reader (i.e. Chrome.) What this does is to intercept all PDF info that comes to your browser and displays it WITHOUT saving it to the hard disk. However, it is possible to have the Reader configured NOT as a plugin but as a “helper.” In this case, PDF files are saved to your hard disk and THEN displayed.

JAYA123PLUS has no control over your browser. It just sends the “bit stream” to your browser, your browsers sees it as a PDF (there is a bit of ‘magic’ here but not much) and decides to either display it OR save it first and then display it. You need to look into the configuration of your browser make any changes on this.

As for the name of the file, that’s simple. We use a random set of letters and numbers as the file name to make sure that we not only don’t over-write anything, but that only YOU can see YOUR PDF data. I won’t say how we do it as we don’t talk about security matters…. but at least you know the reason. If you want to save a PDF, just do a “Save As” and rename it to whatever you want (like “Invoice-1-23-04.pdf” and you will be fine.
